Isa was happy, sitting next to the window in her chambers and overlooking the hills outside of Cerddyn Castle's gates. There was no doubt in her mind that she had the best view. She was using the outside scenery to make a tapestry for the Castle's Great Hall. She wanted to show her family, the servants, and even visitors, what she saw when looking at her father's lands. D'anrth was truly a beauty...perhaps the greatest beauty the Kingdom has to offer. It had always brought her peace when she needed it the most. Riding along the hills without a care was truly her favorite pastime.
She looked down to what she had made so far. The hills were aligned perfectly with the sky. She used her memory to calculate the special details such as the bushes, flowers, and trees. She enjoyed the colors she had to use for the tapestry. Everything she had to use merged perfectly with the setting. Looking at what she had currently made gave her the feel as if she was standing on the hills at that precise moment. Her peace was short-lived as the door to her chamber opened.
Her father crossed the threshold into the chamber. Her uncle followed shortly after, bringing great confusion to her. She placed the tapestry neatly on the floor beside the chair and stood. "Father? Uncle?" She asked as they fully came into the chamber.
Her father greeted her with a slight nod of his head and looked to his younger brother. Godfrey Amallen stepped forward and thought carefully over his words. She knew that they were not here for a friendly visit. She sensed it was something more serious, an idea to help better their family. She knew her the High Chancellor understood full well that she would likely not take a liking to their latest plan. He eventually spoke, trying to ease her into their plot. "As you are aware, we have already betrothed Isolde off to a comely country Lord..."
Isa didn't let the man finish. "Of course I am full aware, Uncle Dearest." It was hard to ignore the absolute sarcasm in her voice. "For had I not first approach you both on the matter? To marry me off to a Lord of the country? And yet you send my little sister off in my stead."
"Please, Isabel, show some respect to your uncle." Eliffer Amallen pleaded. He knew how they had riled her as she had refused to let them forget it. He walked up to her and placed his hands on her shoulders. "Listen to your uncle. I beg of you for once head our word!"
Isa gave her father a sarcastic smirk and cocked her head. She reluctantly agreed but she secretly kept it in her mind that she would not agree...that is if it went against what she knew to be right. Her uncle gave off a short irritated sigh as he tried to speak again. "There is a reason we have refused your request."
"Oh? Is there?" She asked, her tone taunting him.
She had finally riled him, the rising anger being clear in the tone of his voice. "The reason we have refused your request is that we have plans for you. We wish for you to be better matched than your sister."
"If I choose to comply with your wishes?"
Eliffer stepped forward. "Isabel, you simply do not understand. What we have planned for you will automatically make you better off than any other noblewoman in Carneth."
"Really?" She asked, the sarcasm still plain in her voice. "In what way am I to be better than my peers?"
The men exchanged a certain look. Godfrey looked to Isa and smiled. "We plan for you to be wife to the Prince, thus becoming the Crown Princess of Carneth and eventually Queen."
She took a step back and refused them immediately. "No. I will not do your evil wishes. I do not wish to be Queen. And I certainly will not marry that man!" The atmosphere to the the chamber took on an immediate change. She looked from her uncle to her father, waiting for what was to happen next now that she had refused their marital plot.

"You will and that's final!" The High Chancellor spoke with such a fury not known outside of the Amallen Family. He was beyond furious with Isa for refusing his will. It was the problem with Amallen men who believed that their children and any woman is subjected to their desires. And it always ended up poorly for the sad person who were to refuse an Amallen.
"You may not order me about as such! You are not my father!" She returned, briefly glancing to her father. "Father please," she began as she tried to reason with him. He surely could not sanction such a deception and yet he was always more than hasty to agree to his younger brother's terms. By the look her Lord Father had given her, she became aware that he was much past reason. He and his bastard brother. She would continue to fight against their wishes, knowing that she would soon give sway. They would literally force her into their conspiracy, their force turning into violence.
She hated them. Hated them both as men and family. She believed that their lack of morals was a weakness...a weakness that she determined would end in both of their downfall.
Letting out an irritated sigh, Isa fell back down onto her chair. She rubbed her temples. The things her father and uncle came up with brought her much stress, this instance pushing her to new suffocating heights. Her eyes fell down to the tapestry she was happily working on just moments before. She bent down and picked it up. Perhaps continuing on in her work would bring her a sense of relief and perhaps it would push what was tasked of her out of her mind.
She began to sow furiously away, bringing her to prick her thumb for the first time in years. She ignored her father when he knelt down before her. Eliffer Amallen was a cold and calculating man like his forefathers and yet he had the distinctive love and pride when it came to his daughters. Yet despite his care for Isa and Isolde, he rarely showed it seeing as how he was too busy to plot away at their future. A future never to immediately better their lives but to better his own.
She continued to ignore him as he reached for her hands, taking them away from her work. "Please understand that this will not only serve our family. It will give you the highest position this land has to offer. You will have anything and everything at your disposal. And you in turn will bring great glory to our family. You will be mother to Kings, thus making our family's blood set higher above any noble in Carneth. Don'y you want this for you...for our family?"
Isa looked up to him and opened her mouth as she prepared to respond.
