Abby followed the princess toward the dining chambers and stopped when Aneira did. She bit her lower lip as she thought. “Can have soup and bread?" She looked first at the servant then at the princess. She hadn't had soup in years, she couldn't even remember what her mother's soup tasted like. “Oh and hippa... hippi... hippocross... no that's not right." She felt her face flush and knew she was blushing about not being able to say what she was trying to say right.
After the servant left a man stopped them in their tracks, not knowing who he was Abby moved behind the princess. She wondered if he was the same Wizard that she had seen outside, she wasn’t sure so she stayed behind the princess. She wished she had her doll with her, she would be hugging it since she was a little scared, she was also a little nervous. When he said he would help find her family she peaked at him from around the princesses dress and asked in her small timid voice, “you will?”

Balan nodded. "I will." The Wizard turned and opened the doors to the dining chamber. The food was already spread across the table as Aneira had asked. The kitchen staff worked hard and long, cooking the food of the fast but with undeniable skill. The fumes of the freshly baked bread and the warm soup made was absolutely delectable. Balan and Abby sat down, filling their plate with the bread and their bowl with the soup. Aneira picked up a pitcher and poured two goblets of wine, one for the Wizard and one for herself. She then picked up the pitcher of hippocraus and poured it into a children's mug for Abby.
Satisfied that they were happy with the lunch, Aneira sat down and began to fill in her own plate and bowl. It wasn't long before Balan de Vitré began to speak about magic. It was extremely difficult to get his mind off the matter and when anyone did, he would instantly return to the subject. The Wizard began to show off his magical gifts to Abby. He picked up two peaces of bread without any physical feature. Aligning them on each side of the table, he charged them to hit the other, turning the bread into dust.

Abby thought the soup smelled delicious and couldn't wait to taste it. After filling her bowl with soup and plate with bread she took a big whiff of the smells. She smiled at up at the princess when she filled her mug. “Thank you, princess." She watched her sit down then looked at the wizard, she still felt a little shy around him.
Her eyes were wide as the wizard spoke of magic. It sounded so interesting and fun, she wished she had gifts like the wizard did. She was eating on her soup and bread as she listened to the wizard. When the two pieces of bread lifted up and then charged at one another her eyes were as wide as saucers by the time they hit and turned to dust. “Wow.” She whispered, “I’ve never seen anyone do that before.”

"Then I am honored to be the first to show you," the Wizard said as he winked to Aneira. "You brag too much." She said as she took a sip of wine from her goblet. "It really doesn't suit you, Balan." Rolling his eyes, the Wizard made a sarcastic remark. "And embroidery doesn't suit you." The sarcastic comments made by a Wizard never made any sense. She didn't understand why Balan of them all would keep trying to make one...knowing full well nothing he says makes any ounce of sense.
Not even bothering to say anything in turn, Aneira's attention was adverted when the door was opened. Her small dog ran in and bounded his way onto her lap. With one hand, she stroked his soft fur and with the other she fed him some bread. When she noticed Abby's look, she spoke. "His name is Peredur. Don't worry, he won't bite."

“I wish I could do magic. It looks fun." Abby smiled at the Wizard then moved her eyes back and forth as he and Aneira spoke to one another. At the Wizards words Abby asked, “you embroider, princess?" She remembered her mother embroidered, sometimes her mother would try to sell them. She wondered why the Wizard would say it didn't suit the princess.
She watched as a small dog jumped onto the princess’s lap, she wished she was aloud to have a pet. She smiled at the dog when it looked at her, “My family had a dog, but we had to sell him for money to use on food and clothes.” She looked up at the princess when she tole her the dog’s name and that he won’t bite. “Can I pet him?” She loved animals of all kinds.

"I try to." She shrugged. "I'm not that good at it in any way." Embroidery was not one of her skills...although her status required that it was. She was more suited to swordplay and the like. Every time she attempted to embroider anything, it always came out in a giant knot while she suffered a sore finger from stabbing herself with the needle.
Stroking Peredur's soft fur, she nodded when Abby asked to pet the little dog. Aneira gave a small smile when the dog jumped up, licking the young servant's face. "I think he likes you." The Princess said as she fondly looked at them both. "You may play with him as much as you like, at any time. It will be a shame to keep two new friends apart."

“My mother could teach you, she started to teach me," Abby looked down before continuing, “before one of your knights found me lost in the forest." She wondered if her family still remembered her. She hoped they did because she missed them and hoped to see them again. She looked at the Wizard, “do you have to be born with magic?" She asked because she hoped she could be taught magic.
Abby smiled as giggled as the dog jumped up and licked her face. She looked up at the princess, “you mean when Prince Owain will let me, right?" She scratched Peredur behind his ears, she could tell he liked it because the way he wagged his tail and closed his eyes. It was almost the same way her dog use to do. She really wished she could have a pet.

"I'm afraid I don't have the patience to learn embroidery." Aneira said as she tried to give off a smile. She turned her attention back to the Wizard when he responded to Abby's question. "Yes. You must be born with magic in order to wield it. You can still learn about it but will never be able to use it in any way."
"You mean when Prince Owain will let me, right?" Aneira looked up at the question. "No. Not when my brother lets you...whenever you want." She didn't like when anyone would try to command another in ever single detail. She rebelled against the theory, often to the great distress of her father the King.

Abby smiled at the princess's words, “I bet that if you could learn how to embroider then you would be great at it." She looked back at the Wizard when he responded to her question, “Oh, but I would love to learn about magic." She smiled at the Wizard, “it would be very interesting to learn about magic, are their different kinds of magic?"
“Really? I would love that!” She smiled then reached over and gave the dog another scratch behind the ears. “I miss having a dog.” She said quietly without losing her smile petting the dog made her happy. “I love all animals, but that’s what got me to being a servant here.” Sometimes she hated being there because she was away from her family but Prince Owain treated her almost like a daughter.
