If you follow these simple guidelines then your time on AWOK will be a good and peaceful one. Failure to follow these guidelines will result in warnings and might end up with expulsion from the site. If any of these guidelines are broken, please contact a staff member to deal with it accordingly.
General
*Respect: Be respectful to our member’s writing habits and opinions. No one is absolutely gifted in grammar and everyone is entitled to their own beliefs, no matter what the topic is. If you see a mistake in a post, contact the writer and they will likely fix it. Do not impose your beliefs on others under no circumstances. Showing respect to others will grant you their respect in return.
*Privacy: Do not give your RL information to another member and do not ask a member for their own information. This is strictly prohibited and anyone acting this way will be removed from the site immediately. Safety is a major concern and it is best to keep any information you give to a minimum – it isn’t recommended that you hand out your other social network information such as Facebook or Twitter.
*Generosity: Be generous to our members, meaning if you are approached for help then give it to the best of your abilities or simply refer them to a staff member.
Posts
*Before you post: Before you are allowed to post, you must apply your character by posting a Character Biography. Once that is approved, you must also complete a Story Arc before posting.
*Posting Length: Posts should be at least two paragraphs long. When writing posts that are less than three paragraphs, then each one should be at least six sentences long.
*Posting: Everyone should post at least six times a week, in order to make sure that AWOK is kept active and we move on in a timely manor. This is for the RPG threads.
*Codes/Graphics: Using the provided code when you make a post is fine. The same thing is said for using graphic images, although the staff asks that it is kept to a minimum. Having too much code in a post can end up being hard on the eyes and that is unwanted. Plus using too much will make the post load slower than normal for those waiting to read the post.
*Using other member’s characters: Do not mention other member’s characters in your posts without first receiving their express permission.
*Your character's death: If it comes time for your character to die for whatever reason, inform a staff member and they will move all the threads with that character to the archives, as well as deleting your Story Arc. You may then change the display name in your profile to take up another character. Doing this means you would have to create a whole new Story Arc for the character as well as tapping a staff member, informing them of your new role.
*Completed/Inactive Threads: If you have a thread that’s completed, consult with your writing partners and ask the appropriate staff member to move it to the archive forum. Also if you know you won’t be completing a thread or if it has been inactive for some time, then also consult with the appropriate staff member to move it to the archive forum.
Graphics
*Avatars: The size limit for avatars is 150x240. Try not to use the same avatar as other members unless if your portraying twins, or any other look-a-like relation. Consult with the cast list to see what avatars are already taken. Click here to go to the Cast List forum.
*Signatures: The max size limit for an image sig is 600x300.
*Other Graphics: For any other graphics you do, please make sure it is decent sized.
